It is important to lay everything lanugo surpassing the throne of God as we come to scripture and humbly seek our loving, heavenly Father with the simple request, ‘please show me your truth Lord, show me what this portion of your word truly means.’ Our desire for truth comes from our desire for Jesus. Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life.’ He didn’t say He liked truth or that he sought truth but that He was truth. In order to be like Jesus as Christians, we must long to be true and to understand His truth with every whit of our beings. Initially, as we journey the Christian life there are many, many things that seek to rob us of our desire for truth and gradually water it lanugo so that the zinged void within us can be filled with just well-nigh everything else, something at least, plane if temporary and ultimately unsatisfying. The enemy is prowling around, the father of lies and therefore the hater of wool truth and he will struggle to persuade us with ‘variations of the truth’ in order to prod out ‘the truth that sets us free’. The reality that we need to cling to is that the zinged voids within can only be satisfied with God’s life and truth. We can hands wilt deceived into unsuspicious something obtainable and of the world considering it just seems too nonflexible to hold out for something increasingly which doesn’t seem to be forthcoming and which nobody else seems to be worldly-wise to point us to as we slowly finger that we are fading into oblivion. We later discover that our hungry souls have not been satisfied with our own plan of whoopee and the mismatch between the pull of the world and the desire within us continues to momentum us deeper into despair. Our souls are hungering and thirsting for truth and if we do not cry out to God for Him and Him vacated to fill that, and to set us free, we spend our time increasingly collecting the junk of the world – second hand scrap which steers us in every possible direction except the way. Our desire for truth must come surpassing our desire for career, for status or for security. It must come surpassing what we perceive to be something that will bring us the fulfilment we are seeking or starving or to be a goal that we finger will fill that deep gnawing need within us. It must come surpassing all that we have read by other theologians no matter how respected and esteemed they are. It must come surpassing our safety net which we spread out to protect us from pain and it must come surpassing all that the world seeks to influence us with or dictate to us how we should be. It must come surpassing the feminist voice that cries out for ‘equality’ or for the latest ‘worthy cause’ that we know we could fight for. It comes surpassing the friend who tells us to ‘follow our dreams’ or to believe that the ‘world is our oyster’. It must come surpassing the desire to be married and to have those longed for children and it comes surpassing the desire to ‘take matters into our own hands’. It must moreover come surpassing all the pressures of family relationships or the demands from work colleagues that we conform to their patterns of living or risk stuff rejected. It comes surpassing we conform to the patterns of this world. All of these things might tug at our stratify sleeves to trespassing our sustentation and win us to their side but if there is any doubt in our minds or hearts – plane if just a small wisp of it – then we must bow our knees surpassing God and ask Him for the full truth and wait until we have received it. I would like to suggest that the reason why people no longer perceive 1 Timothy 2 v 11-14, “Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have validity over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was worked first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman stuff deceived, fell into transgression.” to be relevant, or to be taken at squatter value, is that all the things listed whilom have come surpassing the desire for the full truth. Sadly, I know it did with me until I sooner became willing to push every excuse and treatise whispered and to come surpassing the maker of heaven and earth with the unobtrusive request that He reveal the truth of His precious and powerful word. It was then that I reverted my mind or rather, unliable it to be shifted into His realm of truth. July 27, 2014 in Uncategorized. As the spirit of the age puts ‘self’ first. May much manna be poured out on those who seek the Truth of God’s Word with a yearning to understand. Much love In Jesus David Reply Andrew Chapman says: August 24, 2014 at 11:16 am Thanks, David. God’s holy word is sharper than a double-edged sword, and it penetrates to the dividing of soul and spirit, unorthodoxy and marrow. It serves to put to death soulish things that are undisciplined to the thing of the spirit. His word regarding women in the denomination of Jesus Christ is no exception.
